Biography:

Mary Ellen Calvert, M.Ed. is an Adult Educator and Consultant.  She works with organizations in the areas of Management Development, Leadership, Strategic Planning, Collaboration and many other areas.  She developed curriculum and training modules for the Mid South Collaborative for Nonprofit Development, a three state nonprofit collaborative and trained over 250 trainers to deliver training to grassroots organizations across the Mid-South.  

Mary Ellen lives on the Mississippi Gulf Coast with her husband, Larry and Jack Russell, Maggie.  They are the proud grandparents of six.  In 2010, following the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill, Mary Ellen served as the Nonprofit Subject Matter Expert to assist BP with their long-term recovery plan. 

She is currently the Program Manager for the Excellence In Action certification program for the Mississippi Center for Nonprofits.  She is the past chair of the Harrison County Long Term Recovery Coalition, comprised of over 80 organizations that contributed to helping people return to their homes following the destruction of Hurricane Katrina.
