How can I raise funds or get a grant for my organization?
| FAQs - Management FAQ's |
The Mississippi Center for Nonprofits regularly offers seminars on fundraising and grantwriting, and training is often available from other organizations as well. There are many good publications on these topics in libraries and bookstores. Some consultants work in grantwriting or fundraising, but board and staff members within the organization must still be involved for long-term success. Much successful fundraising is a product of good planning and building relationships over time with prospective donors or funders. For research information about grant-making organizations, see the Foundation Center collection at the Eudora Welty Library in Jackson, Mississippi. Contact the Foundation Center at (800) 424-9836 or visit their web site. http://foundationcenter.org/
A membership organization for fund raisers is the Association of Fundraising Professionals. Visit their website at www.afpnet.org
