What kind of advocacy does the Center provide?
| FAQs - Nonprofit FAQ's |
The Center promotes policies that will encourage giving and volunteering, hold down costs for nonprofit organizations and make their work more effective. For example, the Center supports charitable deductions for people who do not itemize on their taxes, a consistent charitable sales tax exemption for Mississippi, volunteer liability protections, charitable solicitation laws to prevent fraud, advocacy rights of nonprofit organizations, and good government contracting policies with nonprofits. In support of these policies, the Center remains well within allowable limits on legislative lobbying by charitable organizations.
